Aadi Mahotsav 2026 in CBD Belapur Showcases Tribal Art, Handicrafts and Traditional Products Until October 30

Explore India’s Tribal Heritage at Aadi Mahotsav 2026 in Navi Mumbai

Tribal artisans from across India are bringing their traditional art, handmade crafts, textiles, jewelry, and forest-based products to Navi Mumbai through Aadi Mahotsav 2026. The festival is taking place at CIDCO Urban Haat in CBD Belapur from October 23 to October 30, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the country’s rich tribal heritage in one place.

Organized by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) under the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the event aims to help tribal artisans reach more customers and promote traditional Indian craftsmanship. It also provides a platform for tribal producer groups and women’s self-help groups to showcase and sell their products directly to consumers.

Traditional Tribal Crafts, Textiles and Jewelry on Display

Aadi Mahotsav 2026 features a wide range of handmade products that reflect the cultural traditions and creative skills of tribal communities from different parts of India.

Visitors can explore tribal paintings, bamboo and cane handicrafts, metalwork, handloom textiles, traditional jewelry, and products made from forest resources. Each category highlights the unique artistic styles, materials, and techniques passed down through generations.

The exhibition gives shoppers an opportunity to discover distinctive handmade products while learning more about the communities and traditions behind them. It also helps bring greater attention to the craftsmanship and cultural identity of tribal artisans.

Aadi Mahotsav Supports Tribal Entrepreneurs and Women’s Self-Help Groups

Beyond showcasing traditional products, the festival focuses on creating better market opportunities for tribal entrepreneurs. By connecting artisans directly with consumers, the initiative aims to reduce barriers to market access and help producers expand their customer base.

The participation of tribal producer groups and women’s self-help groups also supports local entrepreneurship and creates opportunities to promote products beyond their traditional markets.

Such initiatives can help artisans earn from their skills, strengthen their businesses, and preserve traditional crafts for future generations. They also allow urban consumers to discover products that represent the diversity of India’s tribal communities.

Officials Attend Aadi Mahotsav 2026 Inauguration

The festival was inaugurated by Shridhar Dubey Patil, Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission. Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Khare, Director of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai, also attended the inauguration.

Dr. Tarul D. Bhavsar, Deputy General Manager and Regional Manager of TRIFED’s Maharashtra regional office, presided over the event.

The participation of officials from rural livelihood, fashion, and tribal marketing organizations highlights the importance of supporting traditional artisans and creating wider opportunities for their products.
