The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has successfully completed the computerized lottery for 8,795 affordable homes reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) under its flagship "My Preferred CIDCO Home – My 1st Choice" housing scheme. While thousands of applicants can now check their results online, lotteries for all other housing categories have been temporarily postponed due to ongoing proceedings before the Bombay High Court.

The lottery was conducted on Monday at CIDCO Bhavan in CBD Belapur using a fully computerized and automated system designed to ensure transparency and eliminate human intervention. The list of selected applicants has been uploaded to the official CIDCO Homes portal, allowing applicants to verify their allotment status online.

8,795 EWS Homes Offered Across Five Navi Mumbai Locations

The housing scheme, launched in December 2025, is one of CIDCO's major affordable housing initiatives aimed at helping low-income families purchase quality homes in Navi Mumbai.

The project includes 8,795 EWS apartments located in some of the city's rapidly developing residential hubs:

• Kalamboli
• Kharghar
• Ulwe
• Kharkopar

CIDCO received 10,832 applications for these homes, reflecting strong demand for affordable housing in Navi Mumbai, where rising property prices continue to increase interest in government-backed residential schemes.

With applications exceeding the number of available homes, the computerized lottery was used to ensure a fair and unbiased allotment process.

Transparent Digital Lottery Conducted Without Human Intervention

The draw was carried out using a secure software platform developed to maintain complete transparency throughout the selection process. According to CIDCO, the automated system minimizes manual involvement and ensures that every eligible applicant receives an equal opportunity during the lottery.

Senior officials present during the event included CIDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ashwin Mudgal, Joint Managing Directors Shantanu Goel and Dr. Raja Dayanidhi, Chief Vigilance Officer Suresh Mengde, National Informatics Centre (NIC) Director (IT) Narendra Bhamare, Deputy Director (IT) Habiba A. L., In-charge General Manager (Housing) Shrinivas Mokalikar, along with other senior officers overseeing the process.

The presence of officials from both CIDCO and the National Informatics Centre added an extra layer of credibility to the digital lottery process.

Lottery for Other Housing Categories Put on Hold

Although the EWS draw has been completed, applicants in other housing categories will need to wait longer.

CIDCO confirmed that lotteries for the remaining categories under the same housing scheme have been deferred until further orders from the Bombay High Court. The authority has not yet announced a revised schedule and stated that future dates will depend on the outcome of the ongoing legal proceedings.
