Koradi Temple Land Allotted Under Pilgrimage Development Plan

The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved the allotment of government land developed under a pilgrimage development plan to the Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan in Koradi, Nagpur district. The land will be provided on a nominal lease of just Re 1 for 30 years.

The decision is aimed at supporting the planned development of the Koradi pilgrimage area and improving facilities for devotees who visit the popular Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Temple.

Cabinet Decision Supports Better Facilities for Devotees

The approval was given during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai.

The government said the land allotment will help create and improve essential amenities around the temple. The move is expected to support the systematic development of the pilgrimage site and provide a better experience for visitors.

Land Lease Approved Under Maharashtra Government Rules

According to the Revenue Department, the land allotment has been approved under Rule 35 of the Government Land Disposal Rules, 1971. These rules were framed under Section 40 of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966.

The decision also follows the provisions outlined in a government resolution issued on July 25, 2019. The lease has been approved for a period of 30 years at the nominal rent of Re 1.

Nagpur Collector Can Renew Temple Land Lease

The Cabinet has also authorized the Nagpur District Collector to renew the lease after the initial 30-year period ends.

The renewal can be considered if requested by the Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan and will be carried out according to applicable government rules and regulations.

Koradi Pilgrimage Area Set for Planned Development

The government land, which was developed as part of the pilgrimage development plan, is expected to support the creation of various facilities for devotees. The initiative is intended to encourage organized growth around the prominent Koradi shrine while strengthening basic visitor amenities.

The land lease decision is therefore expected to give a fresh push to pilgrimage infrastructure in Koradi and support the long-term development of the temple area.
