Maha Rozgar Melava Offers 25,000 Jobs in Konkan, Nashik

Over 1 Lakh Youth Join Maharashtra Employment Drive Focused on Skills, Training and Global Career Opportunities

Maharashtra has launched the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Maha Rozgar Melava across the Konkan and Nashik divisions, bringing employers and job seekers together through hundreds of employment fairs.

The initiative has attracted more than one lakh young people, while over 1,500 employers have registered for the drive. Companies participating in the program have reported demand for more than 25,000 job positions.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said education needs to be supported by practical training, continuous skill development and employment opportunities. He highlighted the importance of preparing young people for changing industries and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors and quantum computing.

Fadnavis Highlights Importance of Skills Along With Education

The Chief Minister was speaking at the launch of the employment drive organized by the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The program was launched online from SNDT Women’s University, with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde extending his best wishes through a video message.

Fadnavis said earning a degree alone may not be enough in a rapidly changing job market. Young people need to keep developing their skills and learn new technologies to remain ready for evolving employment opportunities.

He also pointed to the growing demand for skilled workers in more than 28 countries. The Maharashtra government is working to help young people access international employment opportunities by strengthening their language skills, technical abilities and job readiness.

Employment, Training and Education Support Developed India Vision

Fadnavis said education, training and employment are three important pillars for building a developed India.

The employment drive is being organized under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and aims to create more employment and self-employment opportunities for young people across Konkan and Nashik.

During the launch, the Chief Minister also handed over appointment letters to Sahida Paramanik and Kanti Shambhu Chavan, who were selected by Kreva Capital Services Private Limited.

He said employment programs can help connect young people with industries that are looking for skilled workers. The initiative also reflects the government's focus on creating stronger links between education, skills and available employment opportunities.

418 Employment Fairs Planned Across 12 Districts

According to Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, employment fairs are being conducted at 418 locations across the Konkan and Nashik divisions.

The initiative covers 12 districts and has brought together more than one lakh registered job seekers and over 1,500 employers.

Employers participating in the employment drive have registered more than 25,000 vacancies across different sectors. Candidates and companies are being connected through colleges, educational institutions, government ITIs, district administrations and other local organizations.

The government has also planned multiple smaller employment fairs at the taluka level so that young people from different educational and professional backgrounds can participate.

Free Seven-Day Training Helps Youth Prepare for Jobs

The Maharashtra government has also introduced free pre-employment training as part of the initiative.

The seven-day training program is designed to help candidates improve their workplace readiness and prepare for recruitment opportunities. So far, around 61,000 young people have completed the training.

Lodha said the employment drive is intended to continue beyond the current fairs, with the broader goal of connecting young people with employment and self-employment opportunities.

The initiative is not limited to ITI students. Graduates, professionals and candidates from different educational backgrounds are also being included.

Higher Education Department Focuses on Graduate Employment

Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil said his department is working with the Skill Development Department to create employment opportunities that match the growing number of graduates entering the workforce.

The approach aims to build a stronger connection between higher education and industry requirements. This can help students understand available career paths while allowing employers to find candidates with relevant skills.

Marketing Minister Jaykumar Rawal said Maharashtra continues to attract investment and has a strong startup ecosystem. He added that language and skill training can help young people access job opportunities in other countries when suitable positions are available.

Special Employment Fair Promotes Opportunities for Women

A dedicated employment fair was also organized to encourage greater participation by women in the workforce.

The special event brought together companies and service-sector organizations offering employment opportunities for women. A total of 36 employers participated.

Information stalls covering government schemes and programs supporting self-employment were also provided to help women learn about available opportunities for starting or expanding their own businesses.

Maharashtra Employment Drive Connects Youth With Industry

The Maha Rozgar Melava is bringing together government departments, educational institutions, industries, universities and employment organizations to expand access to jobs and training.

With more than 25,000 vacancies registered and over one lakh young people participating, the initiative is focused on creating a direct connection between skilled candidates and employers.

The program also places greater emphasis on continuous learning, helping Maharashtra's youth prepare for changing technologies, new industries and employment opportunities within India and overseas.
