Maharashtra Property Card Services Go Online, Helping Residents Save Time and Reduce Office Visits

New Epsit Portal Facility Brings 14 Property Card Services Within Easy Reach

Maharashtra residents can now apply online for 14 property card services through the Land Records Department’s Epsit portal. The new facility aims to make property-related work easier by allowing citizens to submit applications from home instead of making repeated visits to city survey offices.

The online services cover homes, land parcels, and flats located within municipal areas, municipal corporation limits, and other urban city survey areas across Maharashtra. The move is expected to simplify access to property records and make government services more convenient for residents.

14 Property Card Services Now Available Online

The Land Records Department has introduced 14 new online service modules to handle different types of property card requests. These include recording wills, registering lease-related entries, updating transfer agreements, recording canceled agreements, and processing correction and confirmation deeds.

Previously, some of these requests faced technical limitations within the property card system. The new modules are designed to address those challenges and help citizens submit applications through a digital platform.

Hemant Nikam, Deputy Director in the Land Records Department, said residents would be able to apply for these services through the Epsit portal without visiting the city survey office.

The facility is an important step toward making property-related government services more accessible. However, applicants should check the portal for the required documents, application instructions, and any additional verification requirements for their specific request.

Digital Property Records to Support Property Registration

Along with introducing online applications, the Land Records Department has connected its property card system with the Registration and Stamps Department’s I-Sarita system through an application programming interface (API).

This digital connection allows authorized property card records from government databases to be accessed electronically at registration offices when a property transaction is being registered.

Earlier, citizens were required to submit a physical copy of the property card when registering a house, flat, or land parcel, according to the report. The new integration aims to reduce dependence on manually submitted documents and make the registration process more efficient.

Electronic access to official property records may also help reduce the risk of transactions involving forged or altered property cards. At the same time, accurate government records and proper verification remain essential for secure property transactions.

Integration With Building Permission Systems

The department has also integrated the property card system with the Building Permission Management System (BPMS). This connection is intended to improve coordination between property records and building permission processes.

Property cards contain important details about urban properties, while registration offices record legal property transactions and building permission authorities handle approvals for construction and development. Connecting these systems can help reduce repeated paperwork and improve the flow of information between government departments.

For residents, the wider goal is to make property-related procedures simpler, more transparent, and less dependent on physical documents.

Faster Digital Services for Urban Residents

To support the new facility, the department has also updated the servers used by the urban city survey system. The upgrades are intended to improve system performance and provide faster services to people living in municipal areas, municipal corporations, and other urban survey locations.

Shailesh Nawal, Commissioner of Land Records and Director of the Land Records Department, said 14 civic services would be available to residents from home through the Epsit portal.

The initiative reflects Maharashtra’s broader push to expand digital access to government services and reduce the time citizens spend visiting public offices for routine administrative work.

What Residents Should Know Before Applying

Although the online facility allows residents to submit applications digitally, the department has not specified a separate processing timeline for each service in the available information. It is also not clear whether every application can be completed entirely online or whether certain cases may require physical verification.

Residents should therefore review the instructions and document requirements listed on the Epsit portal before submitting an application.

By bringing 14 property card services online and linking property records with registration and building permission systems, Maharashtra is taking another step toward a more convenient digital property administration process. The new facility is expected to help residents save time, reduce unnecessary office visits, and access essential property-related services more easily.
