MHADA Addresses Citizen Complaints at 17th Lokshahi Din Hearing

Tue May 12 2026

MHADA conducted its 17th Lokshahi Din at Grihanirman Bhavan, Bandra East, under the chairmanship of MHADA Vice President and CEO Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal. Two citizen grievances were heard during the session. One was related to a 12-year-old housing matter from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board, while the other concerned a water supply and access issue at Ashray Cooperative Housing Society, Charkop. Directions were issued for timely resolution in both cases.

Two grievances heard under the chairmanship of MHADA Vice President and CEO Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority organised its 17th Lokshahi Din at Grihanirman Bhavan, Bandra East, on Monday. The monthly public grievance redressal forum was held under the chairmanship of MHADA Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal.

During the hearing, two citizen applications were taken up. One matter was related to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board, while the other pertained to the Mumbai Board.

Relief in a 12-Year-Old Housing Matter

The first case was submitted by Shri Raosaheb Kamble, who had applied for a tenement under the “First Come, First Served” scheme during the 2012 lottery of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board.

Shri Kamble had deposited the full sale amount for the tenement. However, since the payment was made after the first successful applicant, possession of the original tenement was given to the earlier applicant.

After reviewing the matter, Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal directed the concerned officials not to collect any additional amount from Shri Kamble, as the full purchase amount had already been paid to the Board.

He further instructed officials to identify another available tenement in the same housing project, carry out necessary repairs, renovation and painting work, and hand over possession to Shri Kamble at the earliest.

The officials were also directed to complete the process before the next Lokshahi Din.

Water Supply Issue in Charkop Housing Society Taken Up

The second grievance was submitted by Smt. Pratibha Ghadge, a resident of Ashray Cooperative Housing Society in Charkop.

In her application, she stated that access to a toilet constructed as per the approved layout plan had been obstructed by the society. She also complained that the water supply to the toilet had been disconnected.

After hearing the matter, Shri Jaiswal directed the concerned Cooperative Deputy Registrar of MHADA to hold a joint meeting with the society’s office-bearers and Smt. Ghadge to resolve the issue through discussion.

The society was also instructed to restore the water supply to the toilet immediately.

Focus on Time-Bound Citizen Grievance Redressal

Mumbai, May 11, 2026

The 17th Lokshahi Din once again highlighted MHADA’s focus on addressing public grievances through direct hearing and time-bound administrative action.

Of the two applications heard during the session, one was related to the Mumbai Board and the other to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board.

Through the Lokshahi Din platform, MHADA aims to ensure that citizens’ concerns are heard directly and resolved through appropriate directions to the concerned departments.
