MHADA Completes Malvani Shopping Center With 69 Commercial Units
Tue Aug 18 2026
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has physically completed construction of its Shopping Center at Ekta Nagar, Malwani, Malad West, Mumbai, providing 69 planned commercial spaces for beneficiaries. The project is being implemented under the leadership of MHADA Vice President and CEO IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal.
The project, registered under the MahaRERA Act, is officially titled “Construction of Shopping Center at Malvani (MHP-III) on Land Bearing S. No. 263, Village Malvani, Malad (West).” Developed as a turnkey scheme, the project has reached physical completion at the site. The Occupancy Certificate (O.C.) is currently pending.
Three Buildings Provide 69 Shops and Offices
The Malvani shopping center consists of three buildings, numbered 61, 62 and 63, with a combined total of 69 commercial tenements. These include 23 shops and 46 offices, creating organized commercial space for beneficiaries in the Ekta Nagar area.
Building No. 61 comprises 6 shops and 12 offices. Building No. 62 includes 5 shops and 10 offices, while Building No. 63 contains 12 shops and 24 offices.
The distribution provides a mix of retail and office spaces within a planned commercial complex, supporting local business activity and improving access to formal commercial premises for beneficiaries.
Different Unit Sizes Cater to Commercial Needs
The project includes commercial units with varying carpet areas across the three buildings. Units in Building No. 61 have a carpet area of approximately 14.73 square metres.
In Building No. 62, the carpet areas are approximately 11.44 square metres and 12.76 square metres. Building No. 63 offers units measuring approximately 12.25 square metres, 14.00 square metres and 15.10 square metres.
The variation in unit sizes allows the commercial premises to accommodate different types of shops, offices and small business requirements.
Essential Amenities Included in the Project
The shopping center has been planned with essential facilities to support the daily use of the commercial premises. The project includes separate ladies’ and men’s toilets on each floor, parking facilities, a meter room and a pump room.
These supporting amenities are expected to improve convenience for beneficiaries, customers and office users while contributing to a more organized commercial environment.
Sanjeev Jaiswal’s Focus on Project Execution
Under the leadership of IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President and CEO of MHADA, the authority continues to focus on completing housing and development projects while improving the availability of planned infrastructure for beneficiaries.
The physical completion of the Malvani shopping center marks another important project milestone. With construction work completed, attention now remains on completing the required statutory process for obtaining the Occupancy Certificate.
Occupancy Certificate Is the Next Key Step
Although construction has been completed on site, the Occupancy Certificate is still pending. The completion of the O.C. process will be an important step before the commercial premises can be formally brought into operational use, subject to applicable rules and approvals.
The project’s completion provides 69 commercial units across three buildings, including 23 shops and 46 offices. Once the necessary formalities are completed, the shopping center can support commercial activity in Ekta Nagar and provide beneficiaries with planned spaces for business and office use.
