Fri Sep 18 2026

Two Applications Receive Direct Attention

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) held its 21st Lokshahi Din at its headquarters in Bandra East, Mumbai, with two citizen applications taken up for hearing. The session was chaired by MHADA Vice Chairman and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal, with a focus on resolving housing and rehabilitation-related concerns.

Jogeshwari Rehabilitation Flat Case Gets Immediate Action

One application was submitted by Ruksana Begum regarding a rehabilitation flat at Mateshwari Housing Society in Jogeshwari West. She sought possession of the rehabilitation home allotted in connection with a Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) scheme and requested action over unauthorized occupation of the flat.

During the hearing, it was noted that the Apex Grievance Redressal Committee had directed action concerning Flats No. 413 and 605. Instructions were issued to the concerned authorities to take the required action without delay.

A further hearing has been scheduled for September 22, 2026, at the level of the MHADA Vice Chairman and CEO. The Deputy Collector, Special Unit, SRA representatives, the Competent Authority, the Land Manager of the MHADA Mumbai Board, and the applicant will be present for the hearing.

Prabhadevi Rehabilitation Flat Possession Issue

A second application was submitted by Chandrakant Chavan regarding a rehabilitation flat in Prabhadevi. He stated that redevelopment of the MHADA cessed building had been completed, but possession of his rehabilitation flat had not yet been provided by the developer.

During the hearing, directions were issued for officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the developer, and the applicant to remain present for further discussion. A special hearing on the matter has been scheduled for September 29, 2026.

Lokshahi Din Focuses on Citizen Grievance Resolution

MHADA’s Lokshahi Din provides a platform for citizens to present housing and rehabilitation-related complaints directly before senior officials. The process allows issues to be reviewed and follow-up action to be initiated through the concerned departments and authorities.
