MHADA Pune Lottery 2026 Update: Application Deadline Extended to October 22 for 4,624 Flats
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the application deadline for its housing lottery offering 4,624 flats in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Interested applicants now have until October 22, 2026, to submit their applications due to delays in online document verification.
The Pune Housing and Area Development Board announced the extension to give applicants more time to complete the application process. According to MHADA, a total of 165,028 people has registered for the 4,624 flats, while 101,811 applicants have paid the required deposit amount.
Technical Issues Delay MHADA Housing Applications
MHADA first advertised the flats on August 24 under the 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme. However, several applicants reported difficulties verifying their domicile certificates, income certificates, and income tax return (ITR) documents while completing their online applications.
MHADA attributed these problems to technical issues in the computer system managed by MahaIT. The verification delays affected applicants who were trying to complete the required formalities before the original deadline.
To address these concerns and provide additional time to eligible applicants, MHADA decided to extend the application period once again.
MahaIT and Income Tax Department Verify Documents Online
Applicants upload their domicile and income certificates through MHADA's IHAMS 2.0 online system. MahaIT verifies these documents, while the Income Tax Department checks applicants' income tax returns through its online verification process.
However, delays in document verification have left several applications awaiting clearance. MHADA reported that 3,872 domicile certificates and 9,142 income certificates were still pending verification by MahaIT.
The extended deadline is intended to help applicants complete the process and reduce the difficulties caused by the technical delays. The previous deadline was October 15.
Sanjeev Jaiswal and MHADA's Housing Initiative
Under the leadership of IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA, the authority is facilitating access to affordable housing through various housing schemes and lottery programs. The Pune housing lottery offers applicants an opportunity to secure a home in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad through the authority's 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme.
The latest extension gives applicants additional time to ensure that their documents are verified and their applications are submitted successfully.
Applicants Get More Time Until October 22
Interested homebuyers should use the extended period to check their application details, complete any pending formalities, and confirm their deposit payment status.
With more than 165,000 applicants already registered for 4,624 flats, the housing lottery has attracted considerable interest. Applicants are advised to monitor official MHADA announcements for further updates on the application process and upcoming lottery stages.
