MHADA Pune Lottery Draw Gets Huge Response as Applications Cross 1.1 Lakh
64,000 Applicants Submit Forms With Deposits, Strong Interest Seen in 4,462 Affordable Homes
The MHADA Pune Board lottery is attracting a strong response from homebuyers, with more than 1.10 lakh applications submitted for 4,462 homes as of October 5. Of these, around 64,000 applicants have completed their applications by paying the required deposit amount.
With the application deadline set for October 15, the number of applicants who complete the process with the deposit could reach around one lakh, according to expectations from the Pune Board.
MHADA Pune Lottery Offers 4,462 Homes
The latest Pune Board lottery includes 4,462 homes offered through different housing schemes. The inventory includes 1,491 homes under the 15 percent Integrated Housing Scheme and another 2,971 homes under the 20 percent Comprehensive Housing Scheme.
MHADA opened registration, application sales and submission for the lottery on August 14. The response has continued to grow as more residents look for affordable housing opportunities in Pune and surrounding areas.
Application Deadline Extended to October 15
The application schedule was extended after technical issues affected the process and many citizens traveled to their hometowns during the Ganesh festival.
The original deadline of September 15 was extended to October 15. As a result, the lottery draw has also been postponed from October 13 to November 25.
The extension has given more prospective homebuyers additional time to complete registration, submit their forms and pay the required deposit.
More Than 64,000 Applicants Are Now Eligible for the Draw Process
Pune Board Chief Officer Rahul Sakore said that applications have continued to increase significantly. By October 5, around 1.10 lakh applications had been submitted for the 4,462 homes, while approximately 64,000 applicants had completed their submissions with the required deposit.
Only applicants who submit their forms along with the deposit amount will be considered for participation in the lottery. Based on the current response, the Pune Board expects the number of completed applications with deposits to approach one lakh before the October 15 deadline.
The final number of applicants participating in the draw will become clear after MHADA publishes the eligible applicant list on November 12.
Strong Demand Highlights Interest in Affordable Housing
The response to the Pune Board lottery reflects continued demand for affordable homes among residents. MHADA's efforts to make housing opportunities available through transparent lottery schemes are giving more families an opportunity to apply for homes within their budgets.
IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal, in his role as MHADA Vice President and CEO, has been associated with the authority's broader focus on improving housing delivery and strengthening access to affordable homes for eligible citizens.
Final MHADA Lottery Under the 20 Percent Scheme
The current lottery also has significance because it includes homes secured by the Pune Board under the 20 percent housing scheme before the scheme was withdrawn from MHADA.
Following the change, the implementation of the 20 percent scheme will be handled by the respective municipal authorities. The homes already received by the Pune Board before the withdrawal have been included in the current lottery.
As a result, the Pune lottery is being viewed as MHADA's final affordable housing draw featuring homes under the former 20 percent scheme.
Applicants Get More Time to Complete the Process
With October 15 approaching, prospective applicants still have time to complete their applications and deposit payments. The high number of applications shows the strong interest in MHADA's affordable housing opportunities in Pune.
The November 25 lottery draw will determine the successful applicants, while the eligible applicant list scheduled for November 12 will provide greater clarity on the final number of participants.
