Integrated Mumbai One App Records Strong Growth in Just 10 Months

Mumbai’s public transport system is moving toward a more connected digital experience as the Mumbai One app has crossed 1.04 crore ticket bookings in about 10 months. Developed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the app brings Metro, suburban railway and municipal bus services together on a single platform.

The app has recorded 1,04,11,824 ticket transactions and 8,16,402 downloads since its launch. Android users make up 74 percent of the downloads, while iOS users account for 26 percent.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8 last year, Mumbai One was designed to make travel across different public transport systems easier through one digital platform.

Mumbai Metro Drives Nearly 80% of Mumbai One Transactions

Metro services have emerged as the biggest contributor to Mumbai One’s ticket bookings. Metro Lines 2A, 7, 2B and 9 together recorded 30,10,554 tickets, the highest among the services available through the app.

Metro Line 1 followed with 28,47,682 tickets, while Metro Line 3 recorded 24,30,370 tickets. Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 added another 3,38,718 bookings.

Together, these Metro services accounted for 82,88,606 tickets, representing nearly 80 percent of all transactions made through Mumbai One.

The figures highlight the growing use of digital ticketing as Mumbai’s Metro network continues to expand and connect more parts of the metropolitan region.

Suburban Railway Adds More Than 15.7 Lakh Bookings

Mumbai’s suburban railway network has also seen strong use through the integrated platform. It recorded 15,70,906 ticket bookings on Mumbai One.

By bringing suburban trains and Metro services together, the app gives commuters a common digital interface for two of the region’s most important rail transport networks.

This integration can make daily journeys easier for passengers who depend on more than one mode of public transportation.

Municipal Bus Services Expand Mumbai One’s Reach

Mumbai One also covers several municipal bus networks, extending its integrated ticketing system beyond rail transport.

BEST recorded 1,53,323 tickets, followed by TMT with 33,706, NMMT with 16,698, MBMT with 7,553 and KDMT with 2,314 bookings.

The inclusion of these services gives commuters more options to combine bus and rail journeys through a single application.

Leaders Highlight Mumbai One’s Integrated Mobility Vision

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the milestone shows strong public acceptance of integrated transportation. He said connecting suburban railway, Metro and bus services through one app supports the vision of creating a seamlessly connected Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Deputy Chief Minister and MMRDA Chairman Eknath Shinde said Mumbai One demonstrates what integrated mobility can achieve by allowing different transport systems to work together through a common ticketing platform.

Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, thanked commuters for their trust in the initiative. He said the strong response shows that passengers are ready to use digital solutions that make travel across different transport networks simpler and more convenient.

Mumbai One Connects 11 Public Transport Services

Mumbai One brings together 11 public transport operators and services, covering Metro, suburban railway, Monorail and municipal bus networks across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Instead of using separate ticketing applications for different services, commuters can access multiple transport options through one platform. The digital system supports MMRDA’s broader efforts to improve physical transport connectivity across the region.
