The Maharashtra government has intensified restoration efforts on the Mumbai - Pune Missing Link project after heavy monsoon rains triggered a landslide near one of the project's tunnel approaches. According to officials, continuous rainfall over the past several days changed the natural flow of rainwater on the hillside, leading to a sudden slope failure. Rocks, soil, and other debris slid onto the Mumbai-bound section near the exit of one of the project's major tunnels, temporarily affecting traffic movement.

The incident occurred during a period of intense monsoon activity across Maharashtra, where several regions have experienced heavy rainfall and localized disruptions. Authorities immediately responded by restricting traffic in the affected area to allow restoration work to begin safely.
