Special Voter Registration Camps Set Across Mumbai This September

Special Camps to Help Voters Update and Verify Electoral Roll Details

Mumbai will organize special voter registration camps across all Assembly constituencies on September 19, 20, 26 and 27 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026. The initiative will make it easier for eligible citizens to add their names, correct voter details, or request changes in the electoral roll.

The camps will particularly support first-time voters and eligible citizens who cannot find their names in the draft electoral roll. Existing voters can also use the camps to check their information and request corrections wherever necessary.

Claims and Objections Open Until September 30

The draft electoral roll for Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban districts was published on August 31. Citizens have until September 30 to submit claims and objections regarding the draft list.

Eligible residents whose names are missing can apply for inclusion during this period. Citizens who have moved to Mumbai or were not included in the draft list for other reasons can also request enrollment based on their current ordinary place of residence.

New Voters Can Apply for Enrollment

The registration drive also provides an opportunity for young citizens who will reach the age of 18 on or before October 1, 2026.

First-time voters can apply for inclusion in the electoral roll using Form 6. Voters who need to correct personal details or update information related to disability or migration can use Form 8. Form 7 is available for citizens who want to request deletion of a name from the electoral roll.

Online and Offline Registration Options Available

Citizens can collect the required forms from their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Applications can also be submitted online through the Election Commission's voter services portal and the ECINET mobile application.

Mumbai Administration Urges Voters to Check Their Names

District Election Officer and BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide has encouraged Mumbai residents to take advantage of the special camps and verify that their names and personal information are correctly recorded in the electoral roll.

The September camps and the September 30 deadline give eligible voters an important opportunity to complete registration, update information and help maintain an accurate electoral roll across Mumbai.
