Toll collections on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway (NH-4) recorded a strong increase in June 2026, highlighting the continued rise in passenger and commercial vehicle movement along one of India's busiest road corridors.

According to the latest operational data released by IRB Infrastructure Trust, toll revenue reached Rs. 166.6 crore in June 2026, compared to Rs. 147.5 crore during the same month last year. The increase of Rs. 19.1 crore represents a 12.95% year-on-year growth, showing the steady demand for road travel between Mumbai and Pune.

Mumbai-Pune Expressway Records Nearly 13% Increase in Toll Revenue

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway continues to witness heavy traffic from daily commuters, private vehicles, buses, and freight carriers. The latest figures indicate that toll collections rose from Rs. 147.5 crore in June 2025 to Rs. 166.6 crore in June 2026.

The nearly 13% increase reflects strong economic activity, growing tourism, business travel, and increased freight transportation between Maharashtra's two largest cities.

Expressway Remains One of India's Most Important Transport Corridors

The expressway is also connected to the upcoming Mumbai-Pune Missing Link Project, one of Maharashtra's largest highway infrastructure projects.

Once completed, the Missing Link is expected to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Pune by bypassing the steep and accident-prone ghat section. The project includes long tunnels and high bridges designed to improve safety, reduce congestion, and provide a faster driving experience.
